| Resumo | Traditional image classification algorithms are mainly divided into two main paradigms, namely unsupervised and supervised. In the first, algorithms aim at estimating automatically the classes' distribution in the feature space. The second case depends on the domain expert knowledge, who identifies in the image representative samples used to estimate the classification model. Recent advances in Human‐computer interaction (HCI) allowed the construction of more intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) that help the users to obtain the results. In the field of remote sensing image classification, GUIs still need advances. Therefore, this work aims at proposing new ways to define better interfaces for selecting samples for image classification. The idea is to identify changes in the common strategies for sample selection to create a user‐driven sample selection, focused on different views of each sample, and also helping domain experts to identify similarity between segments in the image. Preliminary results were tested in the software Geographic Data Mining Analyst (GeoDMA) that has been developed in the Image Processing Division at INPE. |
